The Marriage Pact

The Marriage Pact by Michelle Richmond

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After their wedding, Alice and Jake open an unusual gift from their last-minute guests. An invitation to join a marriage group simply known as The Pact, an organization has claimed to hold a secret to a long and happy marriage. And so Alice and Jake accept the invitation and begin their married life.

The Marriage Pact was an entertaining read. Frankly, I was surprised the two smart people have fallen into the cult. But, we would not have the story otherwise. Anyway, the punishments and demands of The Pact were absurd and comical at times. Alice and Jake tried to stand their ground, but the organization was fast to shut them down. The novel is full of the manipulation and control set by The Pact, it kept me interested although it was occasionally melodramatic. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the ending.
